Buying Your First ENS name!
ENS names is like an email address for your crypto wallet! Makes it easy to receive money, acts as an online identity, and you own it (NFT) meaning you can transfer or even re-sell it on an NFT marketplace!
Step 1: Navigate to ENS Domains
Once here, connect your metamask wallet & search your desired name
Step 2: If name is taken, see if for sale on OpenSea
- You can send offers on the listing if it is listed for sale
- Make sure its the verified (blue check) ENS collection
- Buying from OpenSea is just like any other dApp - just connect your wallet!
Step 3: If name is available, click on it.
Step 4: Choose how many years
ENS names have renewal policy so no one can hoard names forever and forget them.
Step 5: Register, pay 1st transaction & WAIT!
Step 6: After the minute wait, confirm & pay last transaction:
If you want to set the name to your wallet address, go to the “manage” page on ENS website, click on your name, enter your wallet address, and hit “set” (another transaction will pop up).
